Mr. Mercedes Cast, Producers on the Shows Believable Horror Story in Modern
Partner Content“Mr. Mercedes,” based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name, debuts Wednesday night on the Audience Network. Stars Brendan Gleeson, Kelly Lynch, Harry Treadaway, and Mary Louise-Parker; director/executive producer Jack Bender; writer/executive producer David E. Kelley; and executive producer King discussed how the new series dissects the true struggles of modern-day America.
“Mr. Mercedes” takes place directly after the financial crisis of 2008, and Lynch delved into how that affects the characters. “I think when people lose hope, the world doesn’t have a place for them. What does that do to a human being?”
“That’s what Stephen King is so good about, is finding a very believable horror story and he’s put it right onto the streets of modern-day America,” said Treadaway.
